White Version of Boox Go Color 7 Now Shipping

Boox Go 7 White

Onyx released the Boox Go 7 Color back in June, a 7″ ereader with page buttons and a color E Ink screen, and now the white version of the Boox Go Color 7 is finally available to purchase on Amazon, and it’s shipping now.

Onyx has been advertising the white version ever since the Boox Go 7 was released in June, but for some reason there was a significant delay getting it out the door.

Aside from being a different color, there’s also one major difference between the white version and the black version. The white version has an indented screen, similar to the Kobo Libra Colour, whereas the black version has a flush front screen.

There’s probably a slight difference in screen clarity and crispness without the added flush layer, but I didn’t notice a big difference comparing the black Go Color 7 with the Kobo Libra Colour. In fact, the screen looks better on the Boox, and the screen door effect seems to be less noticable, but Onyx exaggerates the colors so it’s hard to compare.

As far as 7″ color ereaders go, I feel like the Boox Go Color 7 is one of the best options. It runs Android 12 and can install apps, so it can make better use of the color screen than some other devices like the Kobo Libra Colour, but the Kobo has stylus support and the Boox does not, so that’s a big advantage for Kobo.

The Boox has the edge when it comes to specs, though, with an octa-core CPU, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of storage space, plus there’s a microSD card slot. It also has a built-in speaker and a mic and it supports text-to-speech to read books aloud.

See my Boox Go Color 7 review for the full list of specs, along with pros and cons, and there’s also a video review of the black version if you want to see it in action.
